Classification Columns/Rows
A data file can, in addition to columns/rows containing e.g. Cq values of genes, contain classification columns/rows which are indicated with a dash (#) as the first symbol in the label. Classification columns/rows are used to provide additional information about the samples, such as classification by groups (healthy/sick, treatment1/treatment2/control), indicate sampling procedure (replicates), amount of sample, PCR efficiencies etc. The information in classification columns/rows can be used for plotting, grouping, normalization, correct for PCR efficiencies, classification, training models, and more, but it is not used in the as input data in the analyses.
