Assign plot colors and symbols

Open the Data manager by either pressing the Data manager button, or choosing Data Manager in the Tools menu, both found in the main window. Color and symbols are specified under the Color & Symbols tab in the Data manager, and they are defined for rows. The settings you choose here are shown in all types of plots. Select with the radio buttons at the top, whether to define colors and symbols for Rows, Groups, or depending on Value. By default, Rows is selected and the default coloring for all rows can be seen in the list box below. By marking a row in the list box , the color and symbol can be changed. The symbol can have different shapes, size, pattern, and border line.

By selecting the Groups radio button, the group names for defined groups show up in the list box instead. You can define one color and symbol for each group which is helpful to separate groups from each other in plots. If each sample has two attributes, such as age interval and gender, you can create groupings that include all samples that have both the attributes in common. The first attribute can be color coded and the other attribute can be assigned different symbols. This way both attributes appear when plotting the data.

Selecting the radio button Values will color code the data based on their values. This coloring is shown e.g. in the 2D and 3D line plots as well as the potential curves.
