Efficiency Correction
Cq values for genes that were amplified with lower than 100 % efficiency can be corrected in the Data editor by selecting Efficiency correction in the Pre-processing menu. This opens the Efficiency correction dialog box.

Provide the PCR efficiency for the genes which Cq values should be corrected and tick the checkboxes for these genes. Every time you press Apply GenEx will indicate the corrected data by coloring the cells yellow. Yellow columns will not be affected when you press Apply repeatedly, so you can correct different genes sequentially by simply ticking more and more check boxes using different efficiencies. Only the newly ticked genes will be corrected.
Another way of doing efficiency correction is to have ha classification row that indicates the efficiencies for each column (gene). Tick the Automatic check box, choose which of the rows that indicates the PCR efficiency, and press Apply.
GenEx uses the following equation to correct for variations in PCR efficiency, where CqE is the uncorrected Cq value, and E is the efficiency.
